Lots of users are still not happy with the fact that Skype on the Nokia N9 does not support Video Calling, Well Arun Lall has started a petition at Change.org !!!
The Nokia N9 has front facing camera and recently a Gtalk video call app has been released. The problem is, not everyone has their contacts on Gtalk. It is difficult to convince all your friends to make a new, different account just to interact with you. This would be hard on those who depend on video calls to keep in contact with their loved ones abroad. It would make life so much easier if Skype video call made it to the Nokia N9 (meego harmattan). This feature is already available on the predecessor, the N900. It should not be difficult to port it to meego. I guarantee that thousands of N9 users would gladly like to have this on their new piece of history.

Probably has something to do with Microsoft not wanting the N9 to outshine the lumia series. Microsoft now owns Skype don’t they?

Uh… yeah….. I have the N9. LOVE it!!! I have used android and apple phone that friends have and am not impressed….. the N9 makes me feel that I have found the phone for me…. so sad its “Dead on Arrival”….

Skype is indeed Microsoft, and there is no further support for Linux platforms from them. Despite the fact that they may loose users to Google/Android by neglecting the N9 platform.
N9 users may get more traction if they polled the Ekiga SIP phone developers to bring Ekiga to Meego/Maemo.
Ekiga was originally the Gnome Meeting system, and hence has it’s roots in Linux.
I have N9, too. Before it wont support flash but now it supported, I hope it’ll happen with the Video Call on Skype, it’ll KING of Smartphones.

well…… i dont use skype’s video calling anyways XD…. on my N9… my skype is only a chat… i dont even use the voice calls…. not that i can’t…. i just dont need it… but… OK…. N9 is the forgiven big brother… and lumia series are the villains of this story…… but u have to admit….. both N9 and lumia series ROCS!!!

I have n9 and i badly need skpe video call coz im working abroad an d got to see my family. Hope you can do something about it as soon as possible. This is my only communication with my family. Thad this n9 for a year and just hoping you could do something about it.
