Nokia have now started the much awaited PR 1.2 rollout for the Nokia N9. Weighing it at a Whopping 283.1Mb this is going to take a slight while to download.
The version number is PR1.2 30.2012.07-1.
This update should bring:
- Support for video calls.
- App folders on the home screen.
- New features for camera and gallery.
- Copy/paste functionality with brackets.
Not all regions will see the update immediately so if the update doesn’t appear on your phone you could try manually checking for updates and failing that you will have to play the waiting game as currently it is not showing in NaviFirm either.

I had no chance to do the first update (PR1.1) from “on air”, I had to plug in on a windows machine and update the phone through the nokia updater software.
I will try to get this update with the updater software this weekend.

Giving an update interrupted error every time i update, any one has a solution, please share
I I got that error a couple of times myself, retrying twice did the trick.
It interrupted my download twice so I finally decided to download the update to my computer and have my computer feed the update to the phone.
Too bad they did not add estimated time of arrival to Car navigation app – who makes car nav app without this???? And Symbian version does have it. Otherwise it would have been perfect. Especially calendar works without constant “stopped responding” messages.

I have already installed the update yesterday evening, but:
1) I don’t know how to make a video call
2) twitter doesn’t notify me on lockscreen/feed as Facebook does
3) the most important problem, all of my SMS and messages have disappeared! even today when I got an SMS, I swiped on the lock screen to get to the message, but my Messages app is totally empty. couldn’t find that newly received message there neither.
Does anyone else experienced this problem? Any help on this? What about Twitter and video calling?

after updating everything right, the video call with Gtalk works and works well, my husband has not arrived and is furious. must await the upgrade for skype. For Gtalk must be installed from the nokia store Gtalk plugin. Greetings from Panama

Update is available on Navifirm now. No video calls though but phone is quite fast now. Installing certificate through security options in settings is not working. You have to use file manager to do this. 802.1X WLAN security is still not working.

I’ve got PR1.1.1 (22.2011.44-2.479.1_PR_479). But still no PR1.2. I think its the service provider that is holding it back and developing their rubbish on it, the vodacom logo and all that jazz.

I updated my N9 in 27.2, but sadly i am not satisfied with it. Its a lot slower, it does not work all the time, a lot of bugs, it does not respond when i touch it. the only good thing its the folders, bit that’s it. hope to have a new update soon, but better than this one…

Hi, I was updating mine N9 and it got stuck at 91% after overnight so I rebooted and then it came back saying rescuing update … and completed. Then it came up saying maximum rescue count exceeded use NSU to reinstall. When I connected to NSU it says there are no updates available and the phone registered that it is updated to PR1.2. Facebook and Twitter are not functioning properly (well the updates appear to be working) and camera is sort of functioning but it came up with device not functioning but still worked. Should i try to reset and resintall?

Hola, claro que si tiene messenger, desde hace años lo tengo instalado, de Hotmail y de yahoo, ya tiene wazapp también, si tienes apps limitadas, pero es el precio por tener un teléfono único, y no del monton como todos esos androides que andan por ahí.
