devel-su works for me, but unfortunatelly I’m not successfull with root@localhost and user@locahost, it says: “connect to host localhost port 22: Connection refused”

Does anymore know whats the problem? Do I have to chance sth in etc/ssh/ssh_config or sshd_config?

I just open deb files straight from email, no file manager needed…i can use terminal if its not able to install by clicking

Every time I try to go into developer mode it says connect to wireless LAN.

There is also free File manager at Ovi, which does the job.

hi when i connect my N9 to my pc there is no folder name MyDocs.But i created new folder with the same name and i tried the same step by step as you have shown in the video but when i reached at the step where i have to type cd/home/user/MyDocs it says the folder not found please help

To almost all above: rtfm (just joking:)) i’m a newbie too. >Read and exercise all you can, related to linux. Simply google .deb package and how to install it… I used ubuntu to learn basics. (invested some sleepless nights to make my external 5.1 soundcard running, tried out many things. libdvdcss2, alsa and other f**k, medibuntu, but compiling usb support to the kernel was too much! I love sleep, so i did give up. 1 month later, my soundcard was surprisingly supported, someone had made a running driver) They have a big and nice community with good support forums. It’s all the same with the different versions of linux, only a few specialities for each. The syntaxes and chroot are always similar when not the same. Just do it, it’s rewarding. Hit me when i’m wrong

try to give the absolute pathname to dpkg. So put everything that the command “pwd” returns in front of the filename. Hope it helps…

Go into Settings -> Security -> Developer Mode and then Enable “Developer Mode”
Go into Settings -> Programs -> installations)
Launch the Terminal Application
Enter ssh root@localhost (standard linux ssh command)
When prompted for a Password, Enter rootme (Default Nokia N9 Password)
Enter dpkg-i filename.deb
Sucessfully setting devolper mode but when i wanna tried to terminal settin type ssh root@localhost then wanted to password but when i am trying to tpye password i can’t type any word on screen.ehat can i do nd how can i solved the prblem

i am havin alot of problem. can’t find home/user/mydocs on pc for the life of me i dont know where it is. also it seems like i am locked out of the root or whatever cuz rootme isnt the password and then i followeed some instructions to reset the password but it didnt help. i really dont know programming i think i got in over my head here. if anyone wants to take up a charity case please email me.

Why is it necessary to install some of the developers applications before usage? Shouldn’t this have been done already by the service Providers?
