Nokia N9 Update 20.2011.40-4 is NOW Available

Looks like the Nokia N9 Update 20.2011.40-4 is out of the gates and ready for update via Over the Air (OTA). The Download is a Whopping 218.6Mb and is actually newer than the one that we saw at Nokia World PR1.1 (20.2011.39-4_PR_001)

As mentioned previously Your Nokia N9 will now get music controls on the lock screen, Improved multitasking, NFC tag reading and according to the download “much more“.

I got OTA notification to update the software. Funnily it is saying 0kb and i get error unable to trace installation package dependencies. I tried multiple times to refresh but no luck. Any help ?

Still waiting for ANY updates presently.

My N9 was bought from Switzerland and has 10.2011.34-1.232.2_PR_232 presently.

Isn’t the a way to reflash manually with stock firmware?

  just updated nokia pc suite on the laptop,hooked up the n9 and the n9 update was recognized and good to go. Hoever it read 1.1 gig, and through hotspot I decided to wait unitll Im home but its there to be downloaded, from NZ at least.

      I downloaded the Windows version of Nokia Software Updater 3.0.560 to my work PC (I use Linux and OSX at home) and attached my phone.
      
      It recognises my handset and software version 10.2011.34.1.232.2 but the middle panel is greyed out and says no updates are available. This is clearly not true.

    you have to reset the entire thing full reset it takes sometime like 30 mins. but be sure make a backup of the entire folders from to your PC. so you can still have the pre installed pictures and videos. Just copy if the reset has been done.

So to confirm,N9 updated no problem after the software updater updated itself on Nokia PC SUITE. No need to wait for over the air.

am not able to connect to internet via Wlan as well as phone connection….not able to open web if it connects just for 30 sec….then connection drops out……does anyone has a solution?????

    hi! i recently got an n9 and discovered that the front cam does not work at all, not even in skype for vid calls which happens to be very important for me. is there any app that we need to dl to get it working? im currently so frustrated with n9 all because of its useless front cam. pls help.

I just got my device. Tried to install, downloaded fine but installation got stuck on 0% on straight-out-of-the-box-factory-settings with no apps installed. after 30 min it rebooted. Phone started to reboot every 5-15 min. Had it Doa replaced and now waiting for my 2nd device to charge so I can try to update again. Hopefully more successfully this time. I’m already incredimazeballed by the swipe UI even though the 1st device was a complete fail.

Hey, no update in Lithuania too, I asked in Nokia shop about it, and they said to me its depends for country, but one guy said that you can do update whit phoenix service software , maybe somebody did this whit this program?

Bought mine in Slovenia, EU, no update for software [apps or MeeGo].

Can some one explain (1) who is responsible for providing the update [local provider or Nokia it self], (2) do I need to enable something on the phone to get the update and (3) how can one get it on his own [via terminal or browser]. Thx!

I got the update the same day I got my Nokia N9 (Im in Norway). The update got stuck on 0%, I did not wait for it to go into a boot loop like a previous post suggested. I am currently trying to download and run the update for the second time. This time I have it off the power. The first time I had it connected to it’s charger.
I will report back if it gets stuck again.

Guys its this simple if you dont have a update then your phone is up to date …. yes lol cmon lets not make a probem where one does not exist furthermore it is a new Mobile operating system so give the guys a little time to develop some new tweaks and things as you report the problems to them I have a N9 its good yes but we always look for more and more. so there is no java accomodation which leaves a huge gap in the application front for already programmed apps If there is a Meego expert here please let me know if there is any add on as yet to accomodate the use of Java on these phones ??

i updated my N9 today and since then every time i receive a text msg it decided to delete it before i even have a chance of reading it…
turned it off and on (the usual)
back everything up the reset it
same thing is still happening, i have no idea whats going on but its frustrating!! has anyone else had the same problem and been able to fix it??

  I’ve had exactly the same problem Rochelle It also tells me when I try to send a message that it is ‘Sending’. Sometimes they do go through, but I can never look at it again and it deletes any new messages and replies before I can read more than the preview.
