More Handset Manufacturers to Join MeeGo – Panasonic and Huawei
Two more Handset manufacturers are to join MeeGo working on the Handset form factor. Panasonic and Huawei are to be nominated to join the MeeGo Handset Working Group at a scheduled TSG (Technical Steering Group) Meeting. If approved (and I can’t see any reason for them not getting approved) they will join China Mobile, Intel, LGE, Nokia and ZTE (who were announced last week). Many (including me) see Huawei coming onboard as a major boost to the MeeGo Handset Operating System and makes the bitter pill of Nokia taking a back step from MeeGo an easier Pill to swallow.
This news will be officially announced in a few weeks.

Well … Damn good.
This is great news for Meego after Nokia’s shortsighted decision. I and many others are waiting for a true open source OS and Nokia could regret their decision in the long run
Nokia will regret this, it will regret putting it’s own baby at the back when now other Major names become successful with it. Elop is slowly killing Nokia… Oh well i’ll buy the only MeeGo Nokia will release.
Naaah, they won’t regret it.
If someone would do the heavy lifting of building the market for MeeGo and successful, Nokia can always come back and enjoy the new market without having to get into the trouble of doing socialization.
