System requirements
Supported Linux distributions:
- Ubuntu Lucid (32bit)
- Fedora 13 (32bit)
The MeeGo developer offering is based on the Qt SDK and API and includes the most recent releases of Qt Quick and Qt Mobility. With this powerful platform and the extensive documentation available, you can create Qt applications that target the different MeeGo UXs. From the MeeGo SDK you will be able to control the full application development cycle.
MeeGo is a standard Linux platform offering additional public APIs provided by dozens of platform’s components. Even if you can technically use those APIs, the MeeGo project encourages developers to use the official API in order to assure the compliance and compatibility of your applications across releases.
Get started
- Install the MeeGo 1.1 SDK
- Check the developer documentation and API references.

MeeGo 1.1 SDK release enables application developers to develop, install, and debug applications, as well as run applications on N900, Netbook, and Aava devices with MeeGo. For developers without reference hardware, QEMU provides an emulated environment for debugging and testing applications.
For all development work, we encourage you to use MeeGo API, which currently consists of Qt 4.7 and Qt Mobility 1.0. MeeGo API comes with a forward compatibility promise and will be extended in future releases.
